It’s time to do a little bit of work and help the adults have a lovely evening by taking care of the kids for them! We’ll be having a game night of sorts with the little ones and also be providing nursery workers as well. At the end of the evening we will be helping with clean-up. What a chance to be a blessing to our parents and other adults in our church!

• Watching the kids – may include:
  • Games
  • Story time
  • Bible lessons
  • Craft time
• Nursery workers (need a few girls to help – perhaps rotating in and out)
• Clean up afterwards

There MAY be a time during the banquet that they will need a few servers but we’re not sure yet. We’ll talk more details Wednesday night in teen class.

Time: the banquet is set for 6:30-8:30PM but plan on staying later to help clean up afterwards. Hope to see you there

• Date: March 17th, 2012
• Time: Starts at 10AM, Ends at or around 4PM
• There will be:
  • A concession stand:
    • pizza
    • hotdogs
    • chips
    • drinks
    • candy
    • snacks
    • and more
  • Referees
    • Please remember the referees are volunteers and are human. They are not perfect and most likely will miss a call or make a wrong call. We don’t want any arguing with the refs.
    • The coach or captain can discuss calls with the refs but remember the refs have the final word.
    • The refs will be calling traveling, tripping, kicking, pushing, carrying, and hitting fouls. We will allow some contact (accidental and simple fouls).
    • Again, remember it will be the refs call.
  • Trophies
• Who can play:
  • Boys
  • Ages 12-18
    • One adult is allowed to be on the court at a time with the team
    • An adult consist of anyone that is 19 years old and up
  • Must have attended your church for at least 2 consecutive weeks (use as an outreach!)
• You can bring fans to watch and cheer on your team. We will have a special section set up for them to watch the game. We also have a game room upstairs that is set-up with foosball, ping-pong, and air hockey available for all to play. There is also couches and chairs up there for the teams to take a break during their free time. (You can watch the game from this upper room if you want.)
• Rules: Regular high school rules will apply (link to a PDF to use as a reference)
• Tournament rules: link to rules specific to this tournament

This is the first of many yearly basketball tournaments we want to host. This year the tournament is small, but we hope to see it grow next year. Thanks for coming out and participating in this inaugural tournament. We are looking forward to see you on March 17th.

Details:

When will we leave? Saturday, Oct. 15, At 12:30 PM (from the church)

When will we return? Saturday, October 15, around 5 or 6:00 PM (we can call parents when we are on our way home)

What to bring?

• Dress warm, it may be cold and damp, and you may get dirty
• Either eat lunch before coming or bring a bag lunch
• Bring money for a dinner stop on the way home
• Snacks (for the hike or the ride)

We are going to be having an awesome time this Friday night with all kinds of games and whatnot! Don’t worry; there won’t be any sleeping going on because this fun will last all night!

We’ve been invited to the Zakris home for a bonfire and a time of games, refreshment and all around good fellowship!  We’re planning on playing some outdoors games such as capture the flag, etc. but if it happens to rain we’ll be indoors so no worries!

Times:

• Meet at the church from 6-6:15PM
• We should return to the church by around 9:30PM

What to bring:

• Snacks or desserts if you’d like.  If you don’t that’s fine too because Chris has offered to host for us.
• We’re having pizza so please bring $2.00 to help cover the cost
• A favorite board game if you’d like to just in case of rain.

What to wear:

• Be prepared for outside games (in other words, you may get dirty)
• If yo wear shorts, they need to be to the knees
• You may want to bring some warmer clothes in case the temperature drops as the sun goes down
